We’ve just received an emergency request from Jacob Mung of Bethel Ministries in Myanmar and we URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP! Sadly, you won’t hear about this from our liberal media…Jacob writes:
“Thank God that He is leading us to the new months. Thanks to God that the 4 students who have received the full scholarship are keeping well too. They have finished their mid-term exam just last week.
The 3 students from our children home given support are also doing well. Muanpi 13 yrs, Tuan neu 11 yrs and Nuam Boih 9 years old are doing good so far.
At the time of writing this letter there is emergency needs in different areas of the country. There has been flooding in many places especially Rakhine, Magwe Sagaing and Chin states. Among them Kalaymyo town is badly affected. There are many friends and Christians who are right now in difficult situations. There are over one hundred thousand are homeless, without food and water. In Chin state there is landslides in that left with 100 of families homeless and without food and water. The flood has destroyed all the bridges and there is no transportation. So right now in Chin state there is no supply of food. Rice being the stable food is very expensive. A kg of rice is costing $3 this is extremely expensive. There is a cry to the humanitarian aid. Everything or anything is helpful. Please pray for this emergency needs.
In the city of Yangon the electricity is cut off, beginning from early morning of yesterday until now. I am writing this report from the internet cafe where they use generator. So our worship services yesterday were without light and sound system.
Many thanks for your prayers and support.

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners of Reaching Ministries,
You are a vital part of Reaching Ministries and it’s so important that you know that we love and appreciate your support and your prayers. Without you, this ministry could not continue, so thank you so much.
When Giles and Marian Isaacson began Reaching Ministries officially in 1984, they had a strong vision to fill a need that had not been previously filled. That vision is alive today in the hearts of all of us here at Reaching and we’d love it if you would also catch that vision. In order for you to better understand what we do, let’s hear what my Dad, Reaching Executive Director and Founder, Giles Isaacson has to say in this short interview I recently had with him:
Me:Dad, what makes Reaching Ministries a unique ministry?
Dad:Our Mission Statement says that our purpose is to help supply the un-budgeted, un-funded needs of Missionaries and Mission agencies. This has expanded to fully supporting Native Missionaries. We are now supporting over 20 Native Missionaries including their associates in India, as well as several other Ministry opportunities.
Me: There are many causes and charities and Missionaries who are constantly asking for funds. Why do you think people should include Reaching Ministries among those the support?
Dad:We realize that there are many worthy Ministries that need funding – we pray for them too. Reaching is unique in that we support Native Missionaries who know the culture, are a part of the culture and have a greater understanding as to how to reach their own people. The cost to support of a Native Missionary is just a small fraction of the cost for sending a Missionary from the U.S., which allows us to support more Missionaries at a far less cost.
Me:Many organizations and charities have huge overhead and very little of the funds raised actually go to the charity or organization. How does Reaching differ from these organizations?
Dad:Reaching has virtually no overhead costs. We pay no salaries or stipends. Every dollar that is given goes directly to meet our Ministry commitments.
Me:Would you agree that when people contribute to Reaching, they are part of a unique and special family with a unique and special mission and that they are greatly valued?
Dad:Yes! We fully depend on our Prayer Partners and Givers to provide the prayer and financial support for this Ministry.
Me:What would happen if Reaching Ministries shut their doors and was no longer in existence?
Dad:Unless another agency or group assumed responsibility for our commitments, our Missionaries would be left without funding, some actually stranded without immediate help.
Me:What would you most like to say to anyone considering contributing to Reaching?
Dad:James 5:16b states: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person brings great results”. Please pray for the Ministry and ask the Lord what part you should have in the Ministry of Reaching. He will guide you.
Me: What would you most like to say to our existing supporters?
Dad:We are so very grateful for your faithful support both in prayer and giving financially. You are the mainstay of the Ministry and there are not enough words to express our appreciation. We are grateful for all that you have done and for the fruit that has been harvested because of your faithfulness.
EXCITING NEWS! For those of you that have been asking for this, we are excited to announce that you are now able to give online! Just go to http://www.ReachingMinistries.org where you will find several DONATE buttons that you can use to contribute. Our hope is that this will increase giving, making it much easier for people than sending in a check. Our ministry partners are in great need at this time. We are hoping to raise $3000 in the next week for special needs such as Don and Andrea’s need for more cookers and the shipping costs involved (ask us if you are unfamiliar with what they do)…and the schools are expressing needs for additional equipment and promotional costs for enrolling new students in the Bible Schools.
Please pray right now and ask God to provide a way for you to help our Ministry Partners. We can’t do this without you and if you are in any doubt that our world is in urgent need of a Savior, just turn on the news tonight. The time is short and we are desperate to do as much as we can for our Lord while we are able.
In His love
Assoc. Executive Director
LATEST NEWS FROM MARANATHA - INDIA
Greetings from Bangalore,
Thank you for the support and Prayers.
Time just flies and it is over a month and half since we bagan the new academic year 2015-16. First we were busy with admissions and there are 138 sudents on Campus this year from different states of India, Myanmar and one from Nepal. Three students from Begladesh were also going to join but could not make it this year. The one student from Nepal has reached us with much difficulty and he almost did not make it. Of the 138 over 60 are from Myanmar and the number of students from Myanmar have increased in the last two years. Over 30 are women and we have more ladies. Also more students from the state of Nagaland, from Koinyak tribe, a tribe that has not come forward to serve the Lord. In fact it has been very hard to reach them. Why they chose Maranatha is perhaps an answer to prayer. You may find many interesting details about this paticular ethnic group from the web.
The political climate is fast changing and I shared with Bro. Bushey to to apprise you. Appreciate your prayers as you hear from him.
Reacing ministry Pastors were all here for the Conference. It was an important week for all pastors and faculty and students. I have also reqested Dr. Hoeldtke and the team to send you some of the pictures with Reaching ministry Pastors. We are thankful that the team was large (11) and spent more time with Pastors College and our families this time. There was some concern because they were going to leave Bangalore just before 15th August and there was the alert of Terrorist attack. It is often in conditions like this that one is sent to do the work and we are called upon to share the good news.
Bro. Isaacson, Puspharaj, our R M pastor, who is totally blind translated all the sessions of three days into Tamil, understood both by Kerala Pastors and Karnataka Pastors. He did a great job at that.We are thankful to Dr. John Hoeldtke and team for not only coming and sharing with Pastors and MBBCS but also for taking care of all the monetary needs of the pastors conference.
All pastors wanted to share about their ministries but there wasn't enough time.
Thank you Bro. Isaacson and Reaching Ministry for making Maranatha Reaching Ministry possible. We continue to pray for more workers that we can send in to the field. I know that is your burden too. Our love and regards to Linette Rose and Mrs.Isaacson.Kung sends her love to Mrs. Isaacson.

REPORT ON THE MYANMAR FLOOD RELIEF WORK
Greetings from Bethel ministries.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your prompt respond to my request to help the flood relief work and By the grace of God as soon as we received the funds we immediately took action.I did not go personally for two reasons. Firstly there are a lot of traveling expenses (If I travel myself the airfare itself is around $400 to and from Kalaymyo) and I want to save more money and use to buy rice instead going myself. Secondly I have a very reliable team based in Kalaymyo to whom I can completely put my trust to do the relief work as quickly as possible. Dr. Ciang and the relief team members are committed to do the relief work efficiently. On the same day I received the $2220 from Reaching, I sent to our contact person in Kalaymyo Dr Ciang and then she move Forward to do the relief works quickly.
And also I received $550 yesterday and thank you very much for more funds available to help the needy ones. As soon as I received I sent to Dr Ciang and she did the distribution today itself. By this afternoon she could inform me and Now I can put all the relief works together. By the grace of God we could reached to some needy areas where the people were hungry without food for few days already.
The first village we reached out is Zozaang, This is about 22 miles from Kalaymyo and they took the 720Kg by two bullock carts. The villagers are totally 180 of 38 families. The roads were still muddy and it took a day travel to get to that place. The villager were so happy and they expressed their heartfelt thanks to me by telephone calls.
The second village is Laibung. This village has 104 families 516 individuals. 2064 kg of rice was carried by a mini truck to Laibung. The truck was caught in the muddy road. After traveling for 31 miles they stuck in the mud and stayed overnight on the road. The next day when they moved on they could reached near by the village. There is no way to get into the village so the volunteers were asked to get the villagers to come up to the road and carry the rice bags. They all rushed happily and reached to the team in less than one hour although the distance from the main road is about 3 miles. Again this is one of the worst place for landslide. Two third of the village was gone. And 39 homes are yet to rebuild in this village.
The third place we have reached is Tonzaang and Naakzang. In these areas we have reached to 44 families. 816 kg of rice was distributed. The villagers were awaiting to the relief works as they also have lost everything.
The fourth place we reached is in Kalaymyo where we can distribute 912 kg of rice to the 46 families for 228 individuals. The Church people did not have and they were given supply of rice for 3 weeks.
The devastation was so much worse than heard when the volunteers visited to each village. There were 189 families who have lost everything because of the flood and landslide. They have whatever we gave them. This is the rainy season and its not cool season yet. When the winter comes in October the Chin State is getting cold and they need blankets. We really appreciate and thank you very much for your assistance to feed the needy and hungry people. Thanks to God and the Reaching ministries for your generous help so that we can Reach out to the people who have no hope.
With the help that was delivered enable to have a new hope in their lives. Lets continue to do as this is for at least a year need.
Many of these people whom we have given relief foods lost everything, their homes and belongings. Their farms were destroyed and there is no way to do any cultivation at this time. The farms are mostly in the plain area are muddy and in the hills destroyed by landslide and also the heavy rain.
Please continue to pray and extend your help.
Yours in His Vineyard,
Ps Jacob, Bethel Ministries
LATEST WORD FROM BETHEL MINISTRIES - MYANMAR
Thanks to God for His provisions to help for the flood relief works.
Hope you are keeping well.
We thank God that Mr Aung Htun was baptized on the 13th of September and accepted into Church membership. This month we have suspicion about some students who are coughing and went to be tested. 2 students from The Bible Institute and 3 from the Children home ware found with lung TB. They are now with medical treatment For TB. Praise the Lord the government gives the medicine free of charge.
There are students from our children's home who have some improvement in their monthly test. Especially Tuan neu, Saiyar Aung. Meebo and Nuam Boih are in the top 10 in their class.
We are very thankful to the friends who have been helping with the relief works. The flood relief work is continuing and help has been extending as the Lord provides. Now we have about 160 families whom we have helped and need assistance otherwise there is little hope for them to get their daily meal. Their harvest is in October And November But the sad thing is there is nothing for them to harvest. So this is a very difficult situation that these families are facing. We are doing the best to help the needy ones around us.
Many thanks for your prayers and support.
Yours in His Vineyard,
Greetings Dear Prayer Partners and Friends of Reaching Ministries,
Blessings and Prayers for you and your family as we celebrate the birthday of our King and wait expectantly for His glorious return!
This has been a blessed yet very hard year financially for Reaching Ministries, so I want to share with you our praises first and foremost. Our 4 main Ministries Reaching supports with your partnerships and their main praises for this past year:
Don & Andrea LaRocque in Bolivia; Praising God for the funds you generously sent in to provide the cookers needed to produce their healing mushrooms, and thankful that God has given them the gift of healing, which has opened many opportunities to share the gospel in an otherwise closed people. More rain this year than normal which is much needed for the farmers. They want you to know that your contributions continue to work miracles daily for strangers you have never met.
Sam Sunder Singh with NLCC in India; Praising God for the funds you sent for relief from the terrible flood they experienced recently, lives were lost, but they were able to help many people with food and supplies and places to stay through your support.
PJ Mathai with Maranatha Baptist Bible College in India; 138 students were on campus this year. Students from the tribe of Koinyak are coming forward to serve the Lord for the first time. These particular ethnic group are very hard to reach, so praise God! In August there was a very successful Pastors conference which also included our ten Reaching Native Missionaries and their Associates, all graduates of Maranatha, faculty, students and their families, led by Dr. John Hoeldtke from Everett, WA. They also thank you for your continued support.
Jacob Mung, in Myanmar with BBBI (Bethel Baptist Bible Institute and children home). Flood relief work has continued and the Lord has been providing the help for over 160 families who otherwise would not even have a daily meal. The church has celebrated their 16th Anniversary and thank the Lord for His faithfulness. They have a new vision to enlarge their tent to plant 300 churches in 30 years (2015-2045). They too praise God for your continued support and pray God’s blessings upon you.
Many are the prayer requests and needs within each of these ministries, as we all have in our own personal lives. This year as we said was a blessed but hard year for Reaching Ministries financially. November was the first month we were not able to meet the full financial commitments to these important ministries. We are trusting God to continue to use us to bring the gospel to every tongue and every tribe around the world. We value your prayers and your support.
God Is Faithful and we thank you for being a partner with us. We know that money is tight for most of us and so we tend to let some ministries drop, but know your support is vital and be assured that you can never out give the Lord!
From all of us at Reaching Ministries, we want to thank you again, and wish you the most blessed Christmas and New Year! Blessings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is the reason for this season and always, Amen!
